Movie Review: Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakual

Such a cute movie. Good enough to get on dvd because you won't get annoyed when the kids play it over and over again.
A+

Books I Love

My favorite neighbor was kind enough to let me borrow The Other Boleyn Girl for 660 pages of late night reading. This book is so interesting that I found myself up till 2:30 in the morning unable to set it down. After finishing it, I was sad that ther was no more 16th century drama to unfold. Then, last night at Borders Bookstore I came upon a pleasant surprise- The Boleyn Inheritance, by the same author, is the story of 2 Boleyn daughters and a widowed Boleyn wife. Thanks to my dad, this became my new Christmas present. I'm excited to continue the saga and invite you to enjoy these adventures.

The Last Let-Down

Club Inferno-Laughlin, Nevada
Laughlin in general is a big let-down. With the opening of a new club in the Edgewater casino I thought maybe, just maybe, things might be looking up in this place. Boy, was I wrong!

The club is set up like a show room and when we walked in everyone was sitting down at the tables which there was WAY too many of, and there wasn't a soul on the dance floor. There were 2 go-go dancers, and I only say that becasue they are paid to dance, that had no idea what to do with their arms except run them throught their hair, and one of them had a pooch belly. I know, I'm a hater, but when you open an establishment for people to enjoy then you want to make sure they enjoy it and not pick it apart because it's so awful. Or am I the only one that does that?

Note to self:

When you open your bar/club, hire PROFESSIONAL beautiful women, have the VIP/bottle service area facing the dance floor (and not looking like a rue 21 fitting room), don't put more chairs then dance space, and especially don't make it look like a showroom.

WoW, literally

I have found myself addicted to the game World Of Warcraft. Not crazy addicted like on it all day. Just crazy addicted like on it all night ! Usually I am up till 2 or later in the morning questing and working on my professions. I have 8 characters all different professions, races, and classes. If you have no clue what I am talking about I recommend you keep it that way unless you have 8 hours of free time every day. I DO NOT have 8 hours of free time. I am trading sleep time in for time to play this game. My boyfriend is the one whom got me into this game and we have a few characters that we only play together.

*Note I do not recommend this game be played by anyone under the age of 25. It is too time consuming and the youth should be outdoors building character within themselves, not characters in a game. Here is one example of why I feel this way:

I couldn't figure out how to get the video on here, so just go to You Tube and check it out.

Let me know about your WoW experiences.

Feel good daily of the day: spend half the time you usually would at the computer today walking, or doing something in your community.

Be safe this holiday weekend!

Baking Cookies

I'm so anxious to get out of town (moving to Texas soon) that I have to keep myself busy or I'll go crazy! So we're making cookies! But since I've packed all of my cookie cutters and rolling pin we are making snake sugar cookies.
Here is the recipe from Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book:

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
preheat oven to 375
bake 7 minutes

2/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour

We are out of milk so I used about 1/2 a can of whipped frosting and honey instead of vanilla.

They do need to cook about 5 minutes longer due to the frosting, and they expand like the bags under my eyes with too much salt! ha! They are still delicious, and children would never know the difference. If you were making them to bring to someone (which we will do for our new neighbors) I would suggest making them very small and/or use a rolling pin and cookie cutters. As for decorating, I used sprinkles because, well, it's so easy. But frosting can be used as well.

I know they look a mess, but they won't look any better when they are inside our bellies. :)

Daily feel good of the day: Bake some cookies and take them to your local fire station, police department, or to someone you know that is in the military.

These cookies can also be mailed if you line a tin with saran wrap and cover the cookies in saran wrap. Just make sure you tell the people at the Post Office that the items are perishable.

All of the Above

I want to talk about it. You want to talk about it. Everything from energy drinks to sex, from abdominal pain to petting zoos, nothing will be left to the imagination. Feel free to contact me at alphachickpromos@gmail.com with topic ideas. Comments are welcome, and tell your friends. Keep reading and blogging! It's good for the soul.

Feel Good Daily of the Day: drink coffe or tea from a cup with a saucer. Sugar Cubes are a bonus!
